This candle was created in honor of Dolly Parton and the hope, generosity, and hometown pride she has shared throughout her life.
Dolly has always believed in remembering where you came from and using what you have to help the people around you. That message holds a special place in our hearts at Hearth & Home by Crookston Candles.
After 23 years away, founder Christa Crookston recently returned home to Knox County with her two youngest daughters. The road home was shaped by seasons of divorce, homelessness, cancer, widowhood, grief, and rebuilding—but also by faith, perseverance, and the kindness of people who continued to shine a light during some of life’s darkest moments.
Crookston Candles began as more than a business. It became a way to keep moving forward, care for Christa’s family, honor the memory of her husband, Dave, and send encouragement to others walking through difficult seasons of their own.
Now, returning to the community where her story began feels like a full-circle moment—and an opportunity to give back.
From September 25 through October 9, $11 from every Brighter Mornings Are Coming candle sold will be donated to Interchurch Social Services of Knox County. Interchurch has spent decades helping local families meet essential needs and find hope during challenging times. We are deeply grateful for the compassion and dignity its staff and volunteers extend to our neighbors every day.

Please allow the wax to melt completely across the surface during the first burn to help prevent tunneling. Trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch before each use, and never burn the candle for longer than four hours at a time.
